The Decluttering For Jesus Program

The Decluttering for Jesus Program works like this, Elena's Declutter has a bank account with money laid aside specifically to pay Elena (aka me) to declutter with those who can't afford the regular rate (currently $26 per hour).

When I find someone who fits this description, I offer them my services at a discount using help from this fund. I offer 3 different rates, the discount rate, the heavy discount rate, and the worthy rate.

1. The Discount Rate:
The client pays $15 an hour and I pay myself out of the fund to make up for my regular rate of $26. So $11 per hour would becoming out of the fund. This is for situations where the person wants to declutter their home but can't afford to hire me at full price. They will need to show that they are putting in extra decluttering effort outside our time together, not wasting money on harmful things, and that they are doing something to improve the lives of others in order to continue receiving this discount long-term.

2. The Heavy Discount Rate:
The client pays $8 an hour and I pay myself out of the fund to make up for my regular rate. So $18 per hour would becoming out of fund. This is for situations where the person wants to declutter their home but can't afford to hire me at full price or at the $15 discount rate. They will need to show that they are putting in extra decluttering effort outside our time together, not wasting money on harmful things, and that they are doing something to improve the lives of others in order to continue receiving this discount long-term.

3. The Worthy Rate:
The client will pay me $2 per hour and I pay myself out of the fund to make up for my regular rate. So $24 per hour would becoming out of fund. This is reserved for special cases where the person has shown to either myself (Elena), a group, an organization, or the community at large, that they are putting in serious work to serve others but are struggling with personal clutter and have very low income. They will need to continue to show that they are not wasting money on harmful things and that they are still working hard to improve the lives of others to continue receiving this discount long-term.

NOTE: Revenue from Elena's Declutter regularly gets added to (or back to) this fund. Currently this is the only source of money in the fund (no outside donors yet).
